Naples
is a treasure trove for the music lover. There many
options to suit just about every type of musical
taste.
If the sound of a symphony is your
thing, be sure to see the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra
(NPO), Naples only professional full size orchestra.
The NPO performs at the world class Philharmonic
Center for the Arts which also features various
touring musical acts during the season.
If opera is more your cup of tea,
we encourage you check out what Opera Naples has
scheduled. Opera Naples is Southwest Florida’s
first and only professional regional opera company.
Founded in March of 2005 by renowned soprano Steffanie
Pearce, Opera Naples embodies the hallmark of regional
opera.
The options don’t stop there.
Another Naples gem is the Classic Chamber Concerts
which perform primarily out of the Sugden Theater
in Downtown Naples. Classic Chamber Concerts even
present a very special series entitled “Rising
Star” concerts which showcase the area’s
youthful talent. Be the first to see the classical
stars of tomorrow right here in Naples!
Want more? The Naples Concert band
has been a tradition in Naples for over 30 years!
The members of this band come from all walks of
live and play for the joy of sharing their music.
Best of all, they offer their musical treats for
free. The Naples Concert Band primarily plays at
the Cambier Band Shell, but they have been known
to venture out to other area venues.
If that’s still not enough
to satisfy your musical cravings, may we suggest
checking out the Paradise Coastmen, Southwest Florida
largest (and arguably best) barbershop chorus. Or
the Naples Orchestra and Chorus, the only non-profit
volunteer organization that has been bringing free
quality classical and popular music to Naples and
its environs since 1993.
Any finally, if you’re here
to stay and want to get involved with the furtherment
of the art of music in Naples, check out the Naples
Music Club, dedicated to enriching the musical experience
in the Naples area by presenting musical events,
offering performance opportunities, and providing
awards and scholarships to local music students.
